Which Verizon PDA?

I am a small business owner and need to move from my RazR to a more robust option. I am with Verizon right now, which obviously limits the options.

I liked the Q for it's size and price, but I've heard it's a very numbed PDA and doesn't allow all of the features one would want.

The 700w is very attractive, (I prefer Windows, I think?) but it not having WiFi worries me. I use Skype religiously and when I was reading the Skype mobile FAQ, it said it needs WiFi or GPRS. Sorry to being so newbie, but does Verizon have/support GPRS?

Their Samsung i730 also looked nice, until I realized it was a few years old and didn't have the updated Windows software.

It seems the 700w is my best bet, but any insight would really be helpful!
 
Verizon is CDMA. For GPRS, you need to look at either Cingular or T-Mobile. I don't know of any cell phones that work with SKYPE. No reason to really. The Internet connection rates via a cell isn't robust enough to support a SKYPE connection from what I have read and heard. I have SKYPE on all my PCs and use it when I am in the office or at home. On the road, the cell works best.

What features do you need and what others do you wish to have?

I would stay away from the Treo. There are many on these forums which horror stories about them (me included).

Have you looked at a Blackberry? I have the 8700C (Cingular) and love it. After my 4th Treo crapped out, I was fed up and moved to the BB. Works great, almost bullet proof. Superb "push" email and phone, also stores all of my contacts and calendar info and synches with Outlook.
 
Ok, thanks for explaining the GPRS thing. I suppose I could just have Skype forward to my cell when I am not at the computer.

Unfortunately I have to stay Verizon, so the only Blackberry that really looks attractive is the 8703e. Will I run in to compatibility issues not going with Windows 5.0?

The phone will be for 100% business use. Don't care about media/games.
 
IMHO, the BB is the best business device. The OS is basically bullet proof. Not as many add on programs as a WM or Palm, but I haven't found that I needed anything other than PocketDay. MAC syncing is an issue however, so it your computer is a MAC, it could be a problem.

Please explain what you mean by compatibility issues? I don't think you can edit Word or Excel documents on the BB, but you can view them. Not a problem for me because I generally have a laptop to do that anyway.
