Just want a cool looking bike, riding on roads and paths 80/% of the time, but something strong enough to take a bit of a battering if i madly decide i wanna try something risky and go over some ramps and down some hills in a woods or something. Also don't really want to b spending more than £150 really as it's just for general leisure use. Any suggestions?

I would stay away from road bikes and go more towards a mountain bike, however there are hybrids these days that are great for the city but can take a bit of a battering if you cycle down stairs. These are often called town bikes. You don't need full suspension however front suspension is nice if you are doing some rough riding.

Try looking at bikes at halfords however there are few bikes for £150 (you'll find that for a lot of places new bikes will cost about £200-£300 for a decent new bike.)
Try looking in a local bike shop for second hand bikes or even ebay.
Your local bike shop will also be better able to advise you on the type of bike (perhaps even give you some ideas on brands/models)
