Which to do first... paint the exterior house or install new roof?

We are getting a new and also painting our house exterior/siding, etc..
Should we paint the house before we get the new roof, or should we put the new roof on first and then paint the house?
And please explain why... Thanks!
 
Well, if you follow the general order in home construction, roof installation would come first and then the painting. Makes sense as the contractors who'd work on your roof need to climb up the sides of your house - prep ladders what-have-you. Chances are the fresh paint would be messed up in the process.
