I've always been a fan of both soccer and football. I played soccer as a kid but moved on to football during high school. I would have to say that football is definitely my favorite sport, but in no way does that mean that i have anything against soccer. Whenever i look up discussions over the two sports it seems that the debate always gets very heated. Soccer fans think that American Football is a mindless and tactless game. While Football fans call soccer players panzies who are afraid of contact. The truth of the matter is this, although soccer and football are played very differently, they are both very similar and valuable.
Soccer and Football have very different fan bases, and this is where much of the conflict comes from. Football is popular mainly in America while soccer is the sport that is most accepted around the world. Fans of both sports often butt heads over which sport is better but often never come to any real conclusion.
So what do these fans argue over. Stamina, Skill level, Physicality. These are all good arguing points, but I don't see the need to even compare the two sports. I am a fan of both sports, and all sports really. I think that sports are man's greatest creation. Sports bring out the best in everyone: passion, competition, pride, teamwork. I think that if everyone could look past all the differences and prejudices that are associated with the two sports and just look at them for what the truly are, a game, then we could learn a lesson about just being more accepting in general. These sports are meant to bring people together, not to force them apart and cause arguments.
