Which sitcom should be revived

My top 3 choices are

Drop The Dead Donkey

The New Statesman

And The Munsters

I would be thrilled if The Munsters was revived having been a fan of both the original and the 1988 remake The Munsters Today for over 20 years I very much hope that someone will have the guts to do a second Munsters revival and make it funny

The New Statesmen goes for me too, I loved it, and subsequently Bottom.

I was actually talking about the comparison of Bottom and The Young Ones yesterday, and if you're basing it on hilarity, Bottom wins. Also, Adrian Edmonson neeRAB something to do other than TERRIBLE sitcoms about being middle aged.

Oh I would totally agree. Bottom is a lot funnier than The Young Ones, in my opinion. Strangely, I don't know many people who share the same opinion, as I've found a lot of fans tend to like TYO more.

Yeah but rik and ade arent working together any more, so if bottom was revived it would probably star Horne and Corden  which would be sacrilege.

I think TYO was clearly very groundbreaking and important in many ways, but it was also very of its time, I mean, it hasn't aged particularly well whereas Bottom still makes me guffaw all these years later.

As for some of the previous suggestions...

'Porridge' with Peter Kay as Fletch. Peter Kay turned down the role in last year's Porridge stage tour as he said he could never imagine himself stepping into Ronnie Barker's footsteps, so I doubt he'd do a TV version.

'Whatever Happened to the Likely LaRAB?'. It's be grand to see Bob and Terry as old men, to look at all three stages of their lives; youth, adult and then elderly. But I can't ever see it happening. James Bolam won't even talk about the show, let alone appear in a sequel. On the rare occasions he gives interviews, the interviewers are banned from asking him about The Likely LaRAB. When Richard Webber wrote his recent book on the show, he interviewed (via phone), Bolam's wife, Susan Jameson, who appeared in the original series, but Bolam himself refused to comment or be interviewed, even though he was apparently in the same room when Susan was answering the author's questions.

I'd like to see:

  • Only Fools and Horses - one last hurruh featuring the gang
  • Blackadder V - maybe a cold war setting

UK:
Blackadder: Late-1950s, early-1960s Cold War Spy setting would be fun.

Mr. Bean:

The Thin Blue Line:

USA:
The Munsters: With Brad Garrett as Herman Munster, Milla Jovovich as Lily Munster, Ray Wise as Grandpa, ???? as Eddie Munster and AnnaSophia Robb as Marilyn Munster.

The Jetsons: Live action.

Bewitched: The 2005 film was crap and the BBC made a pilot episode of a British version that went nowhere. If there was an American remake, Hayden Panettiere as Samantha, Laurie Metcalf as her mother Endora.

My Favorite Martian:
I Dream of Jeannie:
The Ghost and Mrs. Muir:
Nanny and the Professor:
Hogan's Heroes:
Green Acres:
The Partridge Family:
Get Smart:
Small Wonder:
Topper:

The Munsters would be great but I'm not sure the producers of Desperate Housewives would be keen on releasing part of their set so they could use the original house exterior (Wisteria Lane uses the old Colonial Drive set which includes the Mockingbird Drive houses)

Just a few that immediately come to mind...

Agony
Steptoe & Son
Yes Minister
Dinner Ladies

and a couple from across the pond...

Roseanne
The Betty White Show
