Which SImpsons characters have died over the years? (spoilers?)

Which Simpsons characters have died over the course of the show and stayed dead? I can think of:

Maude Flanders
Bleeding Gums Murphy
Fat Tony
Homer's Mother
Gil
Frank Grimes

Is there anyone else?
 
Dr. Marvin Monroe was dead but this was retconned. Why? As Troy McClure said he was never popular!

I've just read up about Fat Tony and the "Fit Tony" business; what a copout! By those standards, we can also include Snowball II.
 
Dr. Nick died in the movie, but that got retconned later on as well. Green Day died in the movie, too. I'm pretty sure Spinal Tap got offed early on in the series.

There was also one of Grandpa's girlfriends, who left him a fortune.

Also, Homer's Vegas wife died.
 
Yea, Beatrice Simmons (Grandpa's girlfriend) and Amber (Vegas wife).

When Maude dies the camera pans to the funeral while showing BEatrice, Monroe & Frank Grimes' gravestones.

And while talking about Snowball II, Snowball III & Coltrane (Snowball IV) died too.
 
Aunt Gladys ("Selma's Choice"), whose legend will live on.

(Yeah...the legend of the dog faced woman...)

HAHAHAHA dog faced woman, that's classic!
 
Lenny's Grandma (The Good, The Sad, & The Drugly - he took a Duff Superbowl Sign to his granny's grave and told her about his week)
 
If one-time characters count, then there's plenty. Shary Bobbins, Red Barclay, Rex Banner (presumed), Pinchy the Lobster, Snowball I, II, III and IV, Horace Wilcox, and probably several others I've missed.

There's also been at least seven Mr. Teenys.

Oh, and Dr. Nick died in the movie, but that was retconned as well.
 
I'm pretty sure it was hinted at least once that Marge's father eventually died. He only appeared in two episodes though, The Way We Was and Fear of Flying.

The band Los Lobos dies in that Homer predicts the apocalypse episode, along with other celebrities(stars will fall from the sky).
 
Gil died in "I Don't Wanna Know Why The Caged Bird Sings". He was on his first day as a police guard at a bank and a theif shoot him. Several times. And then he said it was a robbery-homicide.
 
Except Gil appeared several times after that episode, alive and well. He even whupped Lisa at crosswords in "Homer and Lisa Exchange Cross Words".
 
I know. Gil died several times. Remeber that episode were Gil donated his eyeballs
for cash? Viewers even heard the sound of the eyeballs being extracted!
 
Well uh, Hans Moleman has "died" several times and in fact it was a running joke for a while, but I wouldn't count him as a killed-off character on the show, and the same goes for Gil.
