Yes, I know that both are acceptable. It's just that I'm trying to figure out which tense to use for writing a story. I'm more used to writing in past tense because I've used it for every short story I wrote. However, I've noticed that present tense is something that adds to the suspense of a story, and suspense may be the key I want in my stories. It's just that I don't feel as comfortable with writing in present tense just yet.
