So ive decided that I want a symbian s60 device, but other than that I don't know what I want. So I'll run downt the pros and cons of my options.

E65
pros: wifi, cost, sexy
cons: not a slider fan

E70
pros: cost, wifi, amazing qwerty flip design
cons: slightly dated, the look of the shoulders

E90:
pros: its got all that crazy stuff
cons: cost, wierd look

N73:
pros: cost, camera, big screen, sexy candybar(i like candybars)
cons: no wifi

N95
pros:everything
cons:build quality, cost, battery life

As you can see from my comparison, wifi seems to be a pretty important feature to me. I'll be using the phone on Rogers, and due to their crazy data rates I won't want to use data at all (well as little as possible). So I figure theres no point in even having a s60 if It doesn't have wifi (cause I won't be using data anyways). other than that...I'm a fan of the candybar form factor, but I go a different form factor. The N73 would be perfect for me if only it had wifi....but ya its what im leaning to at the moment. How valuable do ou guys really find wifi? I'd want to use it for webrowsing and making calls with truphone mostly. i could be convinced to get an expensive and feature rich e90/n95 if i thought it was worth it...

help me choose!

If your fine wit the E90 size, I'd pick that in a heartbeat, otherwise I'd get E65 because that also has a wifi, in a much smaller package.

E65 since WiFi is important to you and it costs $200 less than the N95.

I just picked up the E61i because I want WiFi, which is not available with my N73. I love the phone so far.

^^^yes. but i think ive ruled it out becaue of the slate qwerty design. I don't want a qwerty keyboard as the main interface. What would you guys say are the main differences other than form factor between the e61, e65, and e70? they all seem to have wifi and 2mpix camera. any other big differences? Also, would you guys say there are big differences between the E and N series? and what if so?

E-series is business focused, while N-series is multimedia focused. Otherwise, both run S60v3, so the customization is going to be in buttons, available features, maybe form factors, etc. Software-wise, the only difference might be the set of included applications, and 3rd party stuff is available to fill in any holes on either.

I'd love to see an S60 device with a QWERTY setup similar to the Samsung u740 or the old Motorola MPx300. I'm not terribly fond of the slate formfactor QWERTYs either, though the Treos were some of the better ones. Should be possible: Nokia has done a dual-flip before.

I'll tell you what...I have the 6800, and it has a flip-open keyboard like the E70. You can thumb-type FAST on that thing. I love it, and if I had the money I would buy the E70 in a heartbeat. If I had even MORE money I'd get the E90, but that's just me. I currently have the E62 and I'm not liking the smaller keyboard so much.

That's the one I was thinking of, but it doesn't have a QWERTY, just a regular keypad.

The E70 is a nice idea, but one must be careful to get the one with GSM850 rather than GSM900. Also doesn't have A2DP, though I might get one at some point and swap it with my N75 at times.

hmmm choice is so difficult. But I think I've narrowed it down to n73 or e65 now. I might as well start with a cheep s60 phone as my first one anyways so that I'm sure i like it.

If you worry about cost, the 6120 Classic is pretty decent: Symbian S60v3 9.2, FP1, 2MP camera w/ flash, candy bar style, small, fast processor (ARM 11, 369Mhz), A2DP, miniUSB (I hate pop-port), and etc.

BTW your two choices, I would go for the E65 since it has WiFi.

Every time a decide on a phone like the e65, which is a slider and has moving parts, I'll come across a whole bunch of threads about people with broken or loose sliders, or keypads that have been completely scratched up by the slider. And then I don't know anymore....maybe a simple brick is the right way to go...

thanks for your input though guys
