Which should I buy, a Playstation 3 or a XBOX 360 video game console?

Although I already own a Nintendo Wii and really enjoy playing it, I want to buy either a Playstation 3 or a XBOX 360 but I can’t decide which console to get. Both of the systems have games that I want, for example: Bioshock, Dead Space, Elder’s Scrolls 4: Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Assassin’s Creed, but the graphics are slightly better on the 360. Both the PS3 and the 360 have exclusive franchises, the 360 has Fable, Halo and Gears of War (although nothing beyond Halo’s multiplayer and interests me and playing online doesn’t interest me at all, Fable and Gears of War look very interesting) and the PS3 has the Metal Gear Solid and Resistance franchises and the game LittleBigPlanet. But Sony recently scrapped the PS3's backwards compatibility technology meaning that, because I haven’t owned a Playstation X or 2, I won’t be able to play MGS from the beginning. And the 360 is backwards compatibility and has games available for download, Fable I and Indigo Prophecy look interesting to me.

I can’t decide. Input, please?

I have it and I love it!

Resistance is the best game ever and Resistance 2 looks amazing
 
xbox, has most of the games you want and more. ps3 has only littlebigplanet going for it, (resistance is defintely not as good as gears of war, and most people can do without Metal Gear Solid), which definitely isnt worth the PS3's $600 price tag. xbox simply has more selection, for less money.
 
I'd get the PS3 I currently own it to. I would get it because
-One day DVD will be obsolete and everyone will turn to blu ray
-PS3 will have better graphics it's just multiplatform developers are too lazy to make the graphics look better on ps3.(for example like Metal Gear Sold 4. They couldn't make that for 360)
-Free Online instead of paying like 50 bucks a year
-The 80 GB costs just as much as the 40 now
-Good games just like the 360
-No batteries

I would suggest getting the PS3
 
i say get an xbox 360.

1. waaay bettergames

2. its cheaper.

(but go with ps3 if yew like gay sports games)
 
I have both consoles and in your situation, I would go for the xbox 360. I love them both but for different reasons. I love the games on the 360 and the online play. And on the ps3, I love the blu ray capabilities and the web surfing. If you are into gaming though, I would go for the 360
 
PS3
the 360 has problems with reliability. Microsoft has had to replace thousands of consoles due to the fact that they fail quite constantly. If you don't believe me do a search for "red ring of death" and you'll see they are tons of people out there experiencing problems. PS3 hasn't had any case of a widespread problem that matches the 360.
