I'm writing a story set in a large orphanage in the future(yes, I know orphanages aren't really around today and are unlikely in the future, but work with me). I'm debating weather to make the orphanage set in a small town or a large urban city. The small town would allow for more green space/nature, and would have the large orphanage be a well loved and vital part of the small town community. On the other hand, a large urban city would be allow to show how "futuristic" the future is. Both would allow for the adventure that the kids go through as the part of the story; one would be more nature-survivalist focused, the other more urban, getting lost in the big city type adventure. Which do you think would make for a better story?
the orphanage would have kids from all over the future country; that's why there would be so many in relation to the small town population. Imagine like college kids come from all around a state to go to a large college in a small college town.
