Which Sequels do YOU prefer to the originals?

You're right, that's what's weird abotu Kill Bill 3 if it ever does get made. Tarantino said he'd love to do a follow-up set 10 years later focusing on the surviving characters of the films and the 2 kiRAB. Hint. hint. ;)
I still see Vol 1 and Vol 2 as compareable though because it's not until no.2 that certain things are explained.

I worship all of the Naked Guns as my favourite films of all time, but I feel Naked Gun 2 1/2 was where it really clicked for me, I've never laughed so hard before or since probably, fantastic movie...

"Ding, Dong the witch is dead".... :D

Good God - that was a dreadful film. In fact, I only liked "Raiders" of the three - I positively hated "Temple of Doom", and "Last Crusade" leaves me completely cold.

Spiderman 2 is better than the first one, I like the plot better and the ending is lovely! :) Better villain too.

Shrek 2- much funnier, and better characters.

The Mummy Returns: More action, and some comedy too

French Connection 2, an excellent film - love the bit where they make Gene Hackman into a herion addict. Plus he's like a fish out of water because he can't speak French. Marseilles looks gritty and frightening.

Controversial I know, but I actually prefer Police Academy 2 over the original. Why? The shooting up of Sweetchuck's shop - the Chinese restaurant scene "You want stir fly?","You stupid b*stard".
"Captain Mouser", and the shower prank "It's a matter of personal hygene" - and of course Zed and his cronies. Unsophisticated I know, but hilarious - well to me anyway. Let's just call it a guilty pleasure.

I also like "Fortress 2" (e.g. head through TV set scene), and "Gremlins 2: The new batch" (Theater/Cinema scene), and "2010 - The year we make contact". I think those movies stand up quite well on their own. But I can't really put my hand on my heart and say they are better than the originals - just different, and good in different ways than their respective originals.

Also have a fondness for the exquisite awfulness of "Weekend at Bernies 2".

EDIT: Also, don't think many would disagree that "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" is way better than "Star Trek: The Motion Picture", thanks to Ricardo Montalban, and a borrows from a better story. (Moby Dick)

I agree with most :

Aliens
Revenge of the Jedi (better than The Phantom Menace)
Shrek 2
Toy Story 2
Blade 2
Airplane 2
Star Trek 2
Terminator 2
Taxi 2
Bad Boys 2
Final Destination 2
Transporter 2
