i am getting pretty passionate about the environment, and was wondering, which uses more? a 15 minute shower where the water is running for 10 minutes (i turn it off when i am shampooing my hair) or a bathtub filled up a couple of inches (not to the top)?

i like showers better, but people have said they use less water than baths, but the water is constantly running! i am confused!

Of course the water from a shower uses more. Think of il like a bath running on for 10 minutes. It's a lot more than a couple of inches of water in a bathtub.

they both use about the same amount of water. the shower may use a little bit more water, and if you want to be 100% sure, then run the shower for 1 minute and see how much water you collect, then multiply it by 10, and thats how much you use in a 10 minute shower. in a bathtub, you can just guess. but im pretty sure that a shower uses almost the same amount.
