Outdoors as in living in a hutch outdoors compared to living inside with a litterbox. Are some rabbits better at living outdoors than others? I used to own Netherland Dwarves and I really like them. After joining a program where I have oppurtunities to show rabbits again, I am unable to keep rabbits inside because of the dogs that are now apart of our family.

I really like Dwarves, but I don't think they'd do very well living outside in a hutch. Are larger rabbits more suitable? I'm fond of the Rex breeds as well but I'm not so fond of the giants or the mega-fluffy rabbits.

All my rabbits I have ever had have lived outside and I have had English spot, rex, mini lop and dutch. The dutch are my favourtie breed as they don't have to long coats or to short coats and they seem fine with living outside.

From my experience all rabbits are better off inside.

1) The weather can kill them if it is too severe.

2) They are highly prone to catch E Condii, a virus that lives within the brain and attacks the nervous system. It's fatal if not treated.
