Which plants would you recommend for a garden ?

My dad gave me some room in our garden, because i want to try out and plant some of my own vegetables for fun. I have a area that's a triangle-shape 5x6x5 ft . I don't want to plant what my dad plants so these plants are out: tomatos, sorrel, cabbage, peppers, zucchini,cucumbers, mustard, dill, sweet onions, chives,green onions, thyme, mint,radish,turnip,basil and parsley. I live in Oregon if that helps, thank you :)
I can't plant a tree, because we have a bunch of them, nor any berries because we also have them.
 
Try sweetcorn, any kind of beans,cauliflower,broccoli, squash,lettuce or fruit bushes such as gooseberries, raspberries, blackcurrant, blueberry, strawberries apple or plum.
 
Try potatoes, corn, strawberries, green beans, lettuce, carrots, green peppers, cauliflower, broccoli, spinach --once you start looking at a seed catalog, you will have a hard time deciding what not to grow!
