Which photo do you like better?

The first, though neither is a fantastic picture.

The grass is brighter in the second one, and takes away focus from the boy because all I can see is how bright the grass is. The edited one also makes the child's face look kind of sunken in, and that is NEVER good. I also think edited photos often look childish, and so prefer the non-edited version in most circumstances.

What do I like best about photography? Well, a lot of things. I love developing negatives, for one. I love the feel of agitating the canister, and knowing I'm doing it all with my own hands (as opposed to digital, when all I'm really doing is pushing a button).

The first, without a doubt.
The edit make the glare in the grass worse, and the bright light in the sky is distracting too...the purple cast in the 1st was pretty cool. The light in the face in the 2nd was not flattering.

It would have been nice to remove the power lines.

EDIT: I forgot to answer the question.
About doing my own...it captures memories and gives me something to work on in Photoshop.

In general, I like a lot. It allows me to see all the world, and see places I'll never go to, and view eras I didn't live in. It makes the world look better. It makes powerful art. It gives us something to make web pages more interesting. And so on.

And why?

Random question - What do you like best about photography? Explain.

Thanks.

Th second one is the best because it has that sort of film grain effect to it. this is a good photo. the lihting is great. the second one is better also because there is slightly more light on his face. it gives it more feature.
