Which phone

Sorry to repost this but I wasn't getting any help in the general section and since this is about Verizon I thought I would post it here.

Well my plan is almost to the point where I can get a new phone which is a relief because my enV 1 is about to die. I have Verizon and plan on staying with it. I want a phone that has the ability to hold alot of songs and replace my old ipod and I text alot. Thoughs are the two most important things to me. Internet and live tv would be very nice but aren't 100% needed. Because of this im leaning towards the Blackberry storm because it seems like the best verizon phone now but would like to know what the experts think here.

Thanks, Kratisto

Great decision with your continued loyalty to Verizon Wireless (I wish I could say the same for myself)...

I will be happy to assist you with your current wireless device needs.

Verizon Wireless offers many wireless devices that may fit your specifications. You stated the Blackberry Storm looks like a phone you may like. It is a great phone and would meet and exceed all of your standards within a phone. One thing you must realize is Blackberrys are required to have a data plan while on the Verizon Wireless Nationwide Network. The data plan is $29.99 per month extra onto your calling plan and includes unlimited internet/email. This is a great device with an industry leading web browser, touch interface, the best Blackberry Camera, and worldwide roaming abilities. It is $199.99 after $50 mail in rebate.

I would also suggest the Voyager by LG. It also has an excellent camera, V CAST Mobile TV, V CAST Music/Video, and more. It features a full QWERTY keyboard and an elaborate touch screen. It is one of my favorite phones, and I happen to be using it right now. It is $149.99 after $50 mail in rebate.

Thanks alot I have two questions though.
1. How is the voyagers media? Like can it hold a lot of mysick like the storm?
2. Does the voyager need the data plan like the storm?
Thanks for the quick rejply

1. The Voyager doesn't hold a lot of internal media, but can hold up to a 4GB memory card, for external storage (unlike the Storm).

2. The Voyager doesn't require a data plan. It is not a PDA/Blackberry. They do have a data plan available for it. It is the V CAST V-Pack which includes unlimited internet, media center, and other goodies. It is $15 per month and is recommended but not required.

Thanks alot I gotta see if I can afford the data and if I can I'll probably get the storm. The only thing i'm worried about is if I cant afford it is there another phone that can hold a lot of music and still be able to text well ( qwerty keyboard )

Hi Kratisto I had the Voyager and it is a nice phone but you sound like me. I wanted a phone that plays music and I can talk on and do texting. The voyager did these but when it came to music it wasn't great and for me it was just to big of a phone, I couldn't just slide in my pocket. The chocolate 3has everything I need. Built in 1gb memory which I also upgraded with an 8gb card. I hook it up to my car radio via a 3.5 mm cable but also has a built in fm transmitter so you can listen on an open radio station. This has replaced my ipod. I only carry one device now and I can slip right in my pocket. I also use verizons Rhapsody service and download unlimited amount of songs. Now as far as texting I am not a big texter but I do my share. I have no problem texting on this phone though it was easier on the voyager because of the QWERTY keypad it is ok. Now the storm looks like a nice phone but I really can not comment as I never used it.

Another phone i would recommend is the LG dare. Ive had it for several months now and once you put an SD card into it you can have all the songs you like. Bear in mind its easiest to transfer music from your PC to this phones card if your running windows (XP in particular) i am running Ubuntu 8.10 and I have to manually copy and paste into the SD card to get music on the phone and often the music gets messed up in transfer or isnt catergorized how it should be one it gets on the phone. The data plan is 15 a month and the full touch screen makes for a nice browser screen. I find the 3G internet is satisfyingly fast. If you like to text the qwerty keyboard shows up just like it does on the storm. I find the keys difficult to get used to at first but responsive once you adjust to touch screen. Bear in mind the storms data plan isnt optional and is 30 a month instead of being 15 and optional. I got the dare for 50$ with a rebate and the same free phone deal youre at right now

I have recently upgraded to the dare (2 days ago). My old phone is LG VX9400, the swivel TV phone. Was not good for internal mem and had poor batt life, and not for texting. So going from that to the dare is huge. I love the dare so far, no probs at all, and I went with the premium plan to have full access to all the phones capabilities. VZ Nav is pretty cool, does a good job. The net is kinda fast, and the texting is a breeze once you get used to the touch screen. Its a fun phone that I'm sure I will enjoy for a couple of years.
