OK.

OK a few things about my background so you know what would look good on me.

Ok im 16 and in College ( yea i know the age is weird...dont ask) I'm planning on getting my first Cell, I've been researching alot about them and so far i want a GSM fone. Definetly not the RAZR cause its too overrated. :P i like to be different. I want something cheap. Since it's my first fone i dont what a hig-end fone like the D900 or "" i just want a fone that has some sort of feature that lets me write notes, ringer Profiles, Picture ID's for each contact i guess( it sounds cool), customable ringtones, dont care about camera. but it would be nice. ..... please add things and fone name i should look into, i've done tons of research but only on popular fones because its not like name you use everyday its model numbers so i only know a few...so please help.

oh yea just like the other guy in here, I live in Quebec. :P Montreal!!! :P

Ok i looked up the Nokia 6101 (2&3) but i couldn't find it ( i need to use eBay to buy the phone that is basicly my only condition)

Any Others?

Although you don't want high-end, if you go to letstalk.com, you can get a good price on them. What's your zip code? As service provider will make a difference. Cingular & Tmobile are GSM. So is Nextel in a way (iden: sim card), but don't bother with them.

For Cingular, I would get the Nokia 6682, which I have. Great phone, great pix, and it's free. Also the Sony Ericcson z525a is a great phone, with PTT (push to talk) and you make 30$ back with rebate. Another good phone is the samsung SGH-D807 (white), and the only thing I like about it is that it is white and it slides, but I am not a big fan of samsung (besides the phone you mentioned d900.)

For Tmobile I would go with the Samsung SGH-T509 or Nokia 6103. The 6103 is MyFaves compatible so you can have 5 people you call the most, being unlimited (almost like m2m, but you can have landline or cellphone carrier, but no toll free numbers.)

I dunno about dealing with letstalk.com they have gotten into a lawsuit recently i remember seeing it in the washington post I can find some back-up if needed. Basically they make impossible requests for customers to get their rebates. Go there and read their terms and conditions before you buy. Alot of customers even did do all of things that they asked and they still never recieved their rebates. They got the excuse that "the check's in the mail" so just be careful. I don't want to pick just don't want people to end up getting ripped off.

But, about your phone i agree a phone like the 6103 or the t509 would be great. But if you are 16 and in canada that kind of leaves out our major carriers here in the U.S. Also are you looking for a brand new phone or a used/reconditioned phone?
