Hi, I'm new to this board and am posting as I'm about to get a new phone on contract and need some advice.
The choice is between the KRZR K1 and the MDA Compact II (Charmer). I know they are quite different items but I would still appreciate any advice around the operation of the KRZR particularly with regard to the use as a straightforward phone. What are the pros and cons from people who actually use it - I've read the specifiations and, as usual, they sound great, but what is the reality? Basically it would be nice to have the PDA stuff but not essential while I do need a phone that will operate where the signal strength isn't great and still be able to hear clearly and no dropped calls.
I've always used Siemens phones and recently bought the EF81. While it is a lovely phone and sounds like you are using a landline during calls, I can't get any signal at all at home and so it has to go. Am currently on O2 but will be moving to T-Mobile as their tariff seems better for a light user.
As I said, the PDA functionality would be nice but not essential whereas the ability to have phone conversations that are clear and not fading in and out all of the time is essential.
Thank you in advance for your input.
