Which one is better N73 or N80???

the N73 is amazing, its been great, the bright sceen and amazing camera (that make things look better than they really are) are crazy. I can tell you from experiance that the N73 drawls a lot of attention and makes you the envy everywhere
 
N80 has high resolution screen, but is it NOT bright. N73 looks much better with the bright screen & has EXCELLENT battery. Only negative I can think of with N73 is wifi.

N80 cons are..
1) POOR battery life
2) Useless camera
3) Bad slide mechanism
4) It is THICK, not pocketable
5) Dull & small screen than N73
6) No dedicated volume keys
 
I agree...otherwise it's a toss up imo.

Connectivity or Creativity? Pick your poison. The N73 is superior in every way other than the wifi and the awesome keypad and directional pad that N80 possesses. Also, the N80 is a sexy phone with that compact form factor and rzr sharp screen. When you first turn your N80 on your eyes bulge and your jaw drops...although the N73 is almost as pretty with that Super Bright Screen.
 
I just struggled with the exact same decision. The two deciding factors for me:

(1) I am coming off a T-Mobile Dash on which I never once used Wi-Fi. Of course, it was a major PITA to use it so that may have been part of it....

(2) I have a soon-to-be 3-year-old son and a new daughter who I like to take pictures of. It's very nice to have a semi-decent point-and-shoot camera with me when I'm out and about without my digital SLR.

I just got the phone on Friday and so far I'm thrilled with it. I haven't had a Nokia since 2002 or 2003 and it was the one with the keys arranged in a circle (3660?). I was happy to retire the Dash on eBay and relegate the Moto V360 to backup duties.

Having owned both... N80 anyday!!

N73's 'joystick' is so flimsy.. I'm scared to pocket the phone.. or use the stick for that matter [esp for games]

The battery life on my N80ie is much... much better than it was on the N80 I bought when N80s had just come out...

N73's camera and better battery life are the ONLY selling points over the N80, IMO!! Having said so, the camera on the N80 isn't THAT bad... And if you're buying a cell phone because it has a better camera.. well then that's your choice... my priorities are making calls and being able to use VOIP with WLAN are perks that the N73 doesn't enjoy!

Finally, been using the N80ie for a while and the slider hasn't gotten loose a bit! It snaps into place and isn't ' loose ' like it was on the earlier N80...
 
And, there's absolutely nothing ' eye catching ' about the N73... It's just a plain jane candybar phone... The N80 [black] is a head turner!.. But, again, that shouldn't be a criteria for choosing a phone..

I can't wait for a black N95!!
 
Now I'm feeling some phone insecurity....

Of course, I'd like to say that the N73 will last me a long, long time but I think the reason we are all HoFo members is because there isn't a cell phone in the world that will make any of us happy for more than a few months.....

The N80 fits fine in my relaxed fit jeans and cargos. Also quite nice in the cellphone pocket of my Dickies pants/shorts.

might as well just move on. Both are great phones {of the past}

look ahead for N95 and others.
 
Having used both for a month:

N80 Positives:

1. WiFig. This means upto 54Mbps if you are near a hotspot. No camera is going to take a picture better than that. Browsing the web, listening to online radio, checking email, using Gizmo and MSN messenger; oh and making calls too.

2. Screen resolution is amazing. Best I have seen of phones (and I volunteer at a mobile shop).

3. Slider makes it easy to make and receive calls (slide open to receive call, slide close to end call).

N80 Negatives:

1. Battery life. I know its been hammered; but if you are careful with what you do, you can make it last for a while. To improve it; adjust the light sensitivity slider and screen brightness (at full brightness, the screen really is amazing). Also turn off the wifi scanning (this takes a lot of power).

2. Keypad. For my fat fingers, the keys are bit too close and not separated enough.

N73 Positives:

1. So damn light! Its almost featherweight compared to the weight of the N80.

2. Camera. No more needs to be said here.

3. Compared to the N80, battery seems to last forever.

N73 Negatives:

1. Keys and joystick. The two that I used, the keys were too smooth and flush and it was difficult to avoid double pressing. Joystick -- frankly, I was afraid to use it much for fear that it would snap off

2. The camera slider mechanism is a bit loose. After a few photo sessions; it starts wobbling and looked like it would snap off. Had the same problem on two devices that I had.

If you don't need the WiFi, go with the N73. You will not be disappointed with either phone; they are both great.
 
The N80 is the beta version of the N95 with lemon camera, weak battery and poor housing. Although seemingly Nokia never learn, still only +90mAh capacity battery and ~20MB free RAM in the N95...

Sebhelyesfarku: Yeah and wait until N95 gets compared to N73 in a few months and people say the battery sucks on N95 as bad as the N80 I figured they'd go at least with a 1600mah. I can tell you with GPS AND wifi, the battery won't last long.

What I am surprised is that no one has made extended battery support for these phones.
 
Not only does using third party batteries void your warranty, but more importantly, it can cause serious hardware issues on your phone.

Examples of what can happen:

1. Battery contacts corrupted.
2. Screen ruined (since the battery doesn't provide even and clean power, the screen will flicker)
3. Phone will heat up when charging
4. Reduced time between battery charges.
5. In one case, we had a phone that had one of the IC fried because the battery gave it a 'spike' in power; basically, a really bad version of bricking.

So, please, avoid third party batteries and chargers (chargers can have bad pins extended pins, that will short out the connectors on your phone, showing the battery as charged but its actually empty; in addition, they can cause damage to the contacts).
 
I have used both, and my N80ie won me over. I hate joysticks on phones, and also, after having the wifi and using it, it is kind of difficult not to go back. Also, something to keep in mind: the N80 has a decent camera. It isn't as bad as people say it is...I think it is actually quite good. The N73 has NO wifi. None. I just feel like you get more with the N80...it simply has things the N73 doesn't have. Battery life isn't an issue for me, for I have a car charger and I charge it when I'm sleeping. If I will be out for an extended period of time and worry that the battery may quit, I usually have a bag with me and toss an extra battery in there.

In my mind, I just feel like the N80 is a next gen device, while the N73 is just a normal S60 with a better than average camera. Phone cameras are still not there yet. Don't base your purchase on such a factor -
