2N2O5 ---> 4NO2 + O2 , rate = k [N2O5 ]
I. 2N2O5 ---> 4NO2 + O2
II. N2O5 ---> NO3 + NO2 , [slow]
NO3 ---> NO2 + O , [fast]
2O ---> O2 , [fast]
III. N2O5 ---> NO3 + NO2 , [fast]
NO2 + N2O5 ---> 3NO2 + O , [slow]
NO3 + O ---> NO2 + O2 , [fast]
IV. 2N2O5 ---> N4O10 , [slow]
N4O10 ---> 4NO2 + O2 , [fast]
It seems to me that none of them are consistent with both the rate law and the overall equation, but apparently I'm wrong... Please help!
