Which of these books is more interesting?

It's for an AP English project and 10% goes towards our final grade. It has to be a literary book.. meaning nothing like Twilight. I was planning on doing Emma or Pride and Prejudice but someone else is doing those.

The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd
Persuasion by Jane Austen

Any other ideas?
