Which of the following two debate topics would you write about?

I have to write a six-page argumentative paper about any controversial issue I want. The problem with this freedom of choice is that I've been trying to decide all day but I need help with this. Which of these would you write about and why(?):

- Should paranormal activity be taken seriously by the scientific community?

- Should the government withhold information from the public if it has a potential for inducing panic?

Any additional suggestions would be appreciated.

the government withhold info from the public on a daily basis...we deserve the truth and it's up to us whether we want to panic or not
we elected them to represent us and they have no right to withhold info from us
