which movie studio has the best logo and jingle

for me it has to be the now-defunct Carolco Pictures who co-produced Total Recall and Terminator 2 among others
and C2 Pictures who co-produced Terminator 3

20th Century Fox
Warner Bros.
Universal

Most others don't have a jingle just an animated logo, and they aren't that special or memorable. The three above are probably the best 3 ever and always have been, and will continue to do so.

The 20th Century Fox logo is still the one to beat. Carolco is a good one though, I always think of terminator2 when I hear it.

I liked the Cinergi one (which was quite similar to Carolco) on the beginning of Die Hard with a Vengeance. The old United Artists one was a good one, even if it was first used for the turd that is Goldeneye:mad:

My all-time favourite is the one for Universal's anniversary in 1990. Music by James Horner!

Universal and 20th Century Fox are good. I do have a soft spot for Paramount.

However, I love the Tristar Pictures logo and the music at the start, quiet and then building. (and the Mandalay Pictures ones that follow are good)

Lightstorm Entertainment

And finally, the music for Columbia and the way she appears, just makes me feel I'm sitting down to a good film.

I still associate the 20th Century Fox intro with Star Wars.

No sound, but I also like the Paramount one, which I still associate with Indiana Jones, and Star Trek.

I love that one too. Always reminRAB me of the usherettes standing in the aisles with their back-lit tray of choc-ices from years ago. Ah, those were the days...

The woman in the logo is Deborah Kerr, btw.

But my favourite is the old, minimalist Warner Bros logo from the seventies, usually a variant of orange/black/white. A slightly restyled version is used for Warner music these days.

Oh, and the old RKO Electric (buzzing antanae on top of the world) is also a classic.

I don't think this really counts as it is really more of a Production company but I really like the Twisted Pictures animation thing at the beginning of their films.

Yes, some big-name film composers have done the odd logo. So take a bow:

Danny Elfman (Hollywood Pictures and Regency - this was actually taken from his music for Sommersby),

Dave Grusin (the original Tri-Star logo),

Thomas Newman (Imagine Entertainment),

John Williams (DreamWorks and Amblin Entertainment),

Alan Silvestri (ImageMovers - Robert Zemeckis's company),

and the late Jerry GolRABmith (Carolco, Cinergi, C2 Pictures and the current Universal logo) and Michael Kamen (Silver Pictures, Morgan Creek - taken from Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves).

Apparently James Horner also did the Lionsgate music.

All the film studios intros are iconic, The current Walt Disney Pictures one with the castle is my favourite followed by the Columbia Torch Lady and the 20th Century Fox searchlights.

The new Dreamworks Animation one is good with the boy in the moon fishing away cloud.

Does the Paramount intro ever have music as it's the only one fron the main studios that doesn't have music in its intro.

I like this thread!!

Always strange when studios change their logo. After years and years of starting with the mountain, Paramount now starts with the stars, I think. And Disney now starts with the train and zooms out.

I like Pixar's, although I think I preferred the original, more simple version. I'm not keen on the Warner Brothers logo at all.

Does anyone else try to guess the production company? :o I always do. I like Miramax, Pathe, Studio Canal and Working Title. I love Lionsgate, but I think it's mostly a distributor.

EDIT: For production companies, Amblin Entertainment!
