Which major is more attractive to the publishing/editing industry?

I'm choosing between a general lit major and Creative Writing. The former focuses, basically, on reading and analyzing literature. I feel like the lit major would help me to become a faster, more critical reader, but I want to improve my writing as well. Which major typically opens up more opportunities, esp. in the publishing and editing industry? Thanks!
