Hey John If I understand you correct , Polemical is a counter argument Right.
I don't have any particular passage given. I was only given this question with 4 options
Narrative
Descriptive
Argumentative
Comparative

But from your answer it seems that It is Argumentative. Correct me if I am wrong. Earlier I was confused between Argumentative and Comparative.

Debates are the form most commonly used for conducting intellectual disputation. When a debate goes to written form, it can sometimes be done through dueling polemics. A polemic is an argument against an opinion, doctrine or person. So polemic is a form of writing one side of the debate or disputation. You might consider argument or persuasion as possible answers as well. I'd look at the material presented in class and see which one seems to be the point your teacher is looking for here.

Yes, your choice is argumentative and comparative. I'd probably go with argumentative, because of the word disputation. Disputation is a stronger word, and therefore argument being the stronger of compare vs argue, seems to fit best. If you have time, you can ask the teacher for a clarification on comparative and get a read if you are on the right track. They usually help you out if you are getting close. do you have any material from class that covers it?
