Which is your favourite Beatles film?

With the remake of Yellow Submarine happening, which is your favourite Beatles film, in order mine would be a tie between:

Let it Be and Help!

I love Help!, even though they hated it, it's very funny. Let it Be's a favourite too as I love the tension between them all.

On a last note though, did anybody like Magical Mystery Tour, i'm not a Beatles geek, but even I liked it, what was so bad about it?

It got off to a bad start and never really recovered, although it has been cited as a big influence by people like Spielberg.
When it was filmed in 67, it was filmed for Christmas TV. Unfortunately the morons at the Beeb screened it in black and white, which as you can imagine didn't quite work for a psychadelic film! Personally I love it, it's my second favourite behind Yellow Submarine.

I love the original Yellow Submarine; I don't think a CGI version will do it justice. It will be interesting to see computer generated Beatles though.

Love Yellow Submarine, and have since I first saw it many years ago.

Only recently got it on DVD and it's still wonderful.

The idea of a remake/reimagining/CGI version just leaves me cold.

Though not strictly a Beatles film, but another favourite of mine is Across The Universe.

That film is just terrible. Like a High School Musical meets The Beatles :( It's even worse than the Bee Gees "Sgt Pepper" film and that's saying something :D

Strongly disagree - Across the Universe is actually one of my favourite films of recent years and I enjoy it more with each repeated viewing. I think it is definitely one of those films you either really love or really hate.

In terms of actual Beatles films, Help! is by far my favourite. I haven't seen Magical Mystery Tour for about 15 years but I remember enjoying it as a kid. Let it Be is too uncomfortable viewing to be entertaining and A Hard Day's Night has aged terribly. Ashamed to admit, I have never actually seen Yellow Submarine :o

When I was a kiddie, it was Yellow Submarine that first got me interested in the Beatles and their music.

Nowadays, I like 'Hard Day's Night' best. It's just so full of brilliant moments and has a soundtrack of pop perfection.

Oh my g*d!!

I'd forgotten about Sgt Pepper. I got the DVD from the US, just out of curiosity, and have tried watching it all the way through. Best I ever managed was to Aerosmiths appearance.

I fell in head over heels in love with the Beatles when I watched A Hard Days Night in my A-Level Film Studies class a couple of years ago. That's my favourite Beatle film. It started off one hell of a passion for me and dedication to John, Paul, George and Ringo.

And then Help! is my next favourite (they didn't hate it by the way. John felt like an "extra" in it, but George preferred making it to 'A Hard Days Night'). I find the film funnier when I watch them ACTING it rather than watch the scripted lines. Espcially Paul's completely OTT acting in every facial expression and gesture... he's the best one to watch.

Next is Magical Mystery Tour. It's a load of rubbish but it's a good load of rubbish. And a nice effort! ;)

Yellow Submarine is okay, and I can't stand Let It Be. A docummentary that emphasises how Yoko ruined the beautiful frienRABhips of the Beatles isn't entertaining for me.

Help! has the best soundtrack. Perhaps my favourite ever Beatle album.

(Across the Universe is one of my all-time favourite films as well, if that counts. Backbeat is good too.)

Absolutely.

I so love that girl in the crowd at the 'concert' bit at the end, who's crying and going, "George."

If I had been old enough to be there, that'd have been me!

HDN is a great film, but my vote goes to Magical Mystery Tour - the film takes on a whole new meaning when watched while one is "in a mind altered state", so to speak . . . .

Highlights of the film for me - Lennon shovelling spaghetti, and the "flying" sequence . . .
