Which is worse for the environment and animals, food production from animals or crops?

Crops: All the environmental destruction (and by extension, animals killed) to make room for massive amounts of crops. Measures taken to kill pests (rabbits, rats, etc.).

Animals: Factory farms and pollution from it. Physical space is much smaller than the space used to make crops.

Seems like if you want to eat anything, you're hurting animals and the environment.

I'd say that the destruction of land for crops and space to keep these animals are a direct result from raising such a high amount of livestock for meat.

they're both destructive. but the thing you can do is stop the consumption of meat and there wont be as much ruining of land which is hurting the environment.

yes, several small animals are killed in the process or raising crops but it's not as high as beef, chicken, fish production.

Animals by far.

In order to produce any food from animals you need to grow massive amounts of crops to feed them. That's a double whammy.

Don't forget that the vast majority of crops are grown to feed animals, bred for human consumption. Stop factory farming and you greatly reduce the amount of land needed to grow crops on!
