Which is the Scariest film you have ever seen?

Rosemary's Baby is probably the only film I have never been able to watch twice - it gave me nightmares for months after and I'm a bit of a horror movie freak and have seen hundreRAB but nothing scared me like that.

I was really scared of A Salem's Lot when I was a kid but I didn't find it remotely scary the second time I watched it.

The most scary thing I ever saw was a programme on the BBC called Ghost Watch in the early 1990s - I know it was fake now but at the time I couldn't sleep for days after.
 
Actually, I do remembering freaking a bit at the American remake of "The Ring". I though it was a pretty dire remake, but the girl that was dumped in the well looked a lot like my wee sister at that age. It gave me the creeps.

Finding Nemo....the part where Nemo has to go to the top of Mount Wanna-hock-a-loogie....real scary.
Also when Coral is going to get attacked by the Barracuda.....Disney know how to scare the kiRAB!
 
I can't say I've been scared by a film in its entirety, but the first to make me jump out of my seat was Jaws (you probably know which bit). After that I was always on my guard and kind of knew when the shocks were about to happen.

The most recent (though you'd never believe it from the trailers) is Robert Zemeckis' A Christmas Carol
 
I remember seeing that when I was a kid in the early 80's. In those days you could get a lot of video nasties from the rental shops as they hadn't yet been banned! The Sentinel was definitely one that stuck in my mind, more so than a lot of the gorefest ones.

The original Hills have Eyes was quite creepy and also I think we should mention Poltergeist, Rosemary's Baby and The Shining which are pretty good scary films.
 
The Old Hammer Horror films were proper scary too, don't make them like the used to most horror films these days make me laugh instead of feeling scared
 
The original "Friday the 13th" - the bit where Jason jumps out of the water !
"An American Werewolf In London" - the nightmare scene in DaviRAB' home.
"Carrie" - the hand in the grave !
 
Do you mean the original Ju-On or the American remake? I've seen the American Grudge and Grudge 2; they're both piss poor but in a so-bad-they're-good way :D The Grudge 2 has to be one of my favourite movies just because it's so funny and enjoyable to watch. Strange thing is though, despite the actual 'badness' of the movies, they're still pretty unsettling because of the whole idea of it.

I saw the Grudge when I was 12 and I couldn't sleep right for ages either, but it was mainly the concept of being followed by this vengeful being with no hope of escape that really scared me, not the movie. I'd love to see Ju-On... but I'm far too scared.
