am planning to buy a digital camera but am confused, am a beginner but then i googled a lot and came to a conclusion Nikon D90 or Canon EOS 550D. if not please suggest me a best camera which comes with a similar price tag.

Both great cameras, the Canon wins out on resolution and flexibility of the video mode, the Nikon wins out on AF system.

The best thing to do is to try each out in store, see how each fits in the hand, how accessable the controls etc are.

You are going to have to live with whatever you buy so put the spec sheet to one side and see what is actually going to be better for you to use, rest assured both will take brilliant photos.
