Just wondering. I know it sounds really stupid, but this is how "automotive challenged" I am. I have no idea. I need to rent a car. Thanks. =) And if you could explain what's the differences between economy, midsized, etc.... I really don't understand how a car falls under each classification.

that is easy cars are classed by the following:fuel economy size ride engine safety noise reduction in cabin and options. price does play a factor sometimes.
Luxury cars come in compact, midsized, and fullsized sedans and coupes.
So it depends.
If the luxury car is a compact luxury car, then it is smaller than a midsized car.
Economy is a type of compact and subcompact car. They are fuel efficient and cheap cars.
Subcompact is smallest like Smart Fortwo, Toyota Yaris, Honda Fit, Nissan Versa, Chevy Aveo, Kia Rio, Hyundai Accent
Compact is Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Chevy Cobalt, Ford Focus, Mazda 3, Hyundai Elantra, Kia Spectra, Acura TSX, Lexus IS, Mercedes C class, BMW 3 series, Audi A4 or A3, Infiniti G35/37, etc.

Generally a midsized is smaller than a luxury car. Economy is great for traveling with maybe 2 people at the most with their luggage, depending on how much you have. Midsized is for about 4 people and maybe a week's worth of stuff at the most. Economy is for people who need good gas mileage and midsized is better for storage space.
Midsize refers to the cars size. Midsize is usually fairly large car, like Malibu or Camry. Cop car is full size. You also got smaller cars, like Corolla.
Now you can get these all of these sizes in luxury or economy.
