If you plan to get serious off road the TJ's coil spring suspension is far superior.
I have a YJ with a 3 1/2" lift and 33's and I like it fine but i dont do any serious 4 wheeling. Mostly just the trails to my favorite fishing holes. It wont touch what a well equiped TJ will do.
To run 35's you willl need 4 to 4 1/2 inches of lift. Best option is to buy a good quality suspension lift but with that much lift you will need to add a transfer case lowering kit and a slip yoke eliminator kit to keep your rear driveshaft angles in check.
If you want to do it a little cheaper go with a 3 1/2" suspension lift and a 1" body lift. You will still need to do the t-case lowering, which is cheap, but you wont have to do the expensive slip yoke eliminator.
