Which is better for the environment?

Which one, in your opinion, is better for the environment? The mechanical Pencil, or the original wooden pencil?

-The mechanical pencil can be reused for a long time, but a lot of times people break them and throw them away.

-the wooden pencil uses a lot of trees to make so many, and it doesn't last as long, but they can break down again unlike plastic.

I love the mechanical pencil and totally hate regular pencils. I hate all that sharpening and yes it probably is better for the environment, if your pencil is made of recyclable plastic.
