As far as sports cars are concerned, toyota is much better than nissan by way of gas mileage, reliability, maintanence costs, performance... just all around better. Nissans are notorious for the transmissions and engines going out far more often than toyotas. However, toyotas have little annoying things that break, such as the door handle, interior light etc..
Gas mileage is considerably better in toyota also. On the other hand, Nissans have better looks in my opinion, so it depends if looks are more important to you than your wallet
