Aren't flip phones better than the candy bar phones?

The candy bar phones buttons are exposed. Does this not cause a problem when storing in your pocket?

I think it is pretty much your preference. I like the flip phones, just because I can toss it my pocket and go. I've only had one candybar phone and it has a cover on the keys. I would think that the screen, keys could get easily damaged while being exposed, so I stick with a flip phone when I can.

I like candybar because they feel better in my hand, less movable parts means less to break, usually the housings are easier to swap, and you can see everything when the phone is on your desk on the main LCD. it's also just one fluid motion to pick up your phone.

It's all personal preference. I for one like flip phones, because I usually carry my phone in a pocket. My first phone was a candy bar Audiovox, and like you said, hitting keys if you carry it that way is a problem. I never liked using the key lock because you have to turn it off to make a call.
