Which is a more stringent bicycle safety helmet standard: EN 1078 or CPSC?

I'm going to be riding a bicycle in New York City. One of the helmets I'm looking at says it's CPSC certified and the other says it's both CPSC and En 1078 certified. I'm leaning toward the first for aesthetic reasons, but if the second will protect me more, then I'll have to go with that.
