I just got sirius radio and Im getting it installed on Monday... the car people said an FM modulator will give me the best reception, is this true? I do have a tape player in my car
Yes, the modulator is best as it's a direct connection to the stereo by means of the antenna cable. This eliminates any outside interference of other stations no matter how strong.
They are hooking up your sat. ant. and using an FM Modulator so you can tune your current radio to a specific freq and hear the sat radio. The tape player is going to be at its best like a tape player. The best option would be to buy a sat radio unit and install that, but the next would be the FM Modulator instead of the tape player.
Put it in the window so if conditions are bad you can change it easily. Its good to have it on the roof, but really, its hard to get to if you need to and trust me you will need to.
