I'm 14, coming into the dancing game a lot later than the other girls that I know. Dance for most of my peers is something that they were practically born into and expected to do. I've always been heavier so once I get a little thinner, I'd feel more comfortable dancing with other teen girls. you know how that goes. Well, anyways, my question to you is, which form do you think would be easiest for an older girl to pick up quickly? and yes, of course I know that I will have to put a lot of effort into it, but I'm sure some are a little more comfortable for late learners than others.

My options are:

Ballet
Tap
Jazz
Lyrical
Pointe
Hip Hop
Modern
Musical Theater
Poms
Cheer

Thank you!

MODERN all the way.
It will prolly be the easiest, and i'm sure you'd enjoy it.
also... if you have a decent voice i'd say maybe trying out for something for musical theatre and see how you like it :]

The easiest are lyrical, musical theater, hip hop,and modern.
Cheer is for the more flexible, but is attainable with no experience.
Tap is good if you can keep rythm and count 8 counts.
IDK what poms is.
Jazz is very similar to ballet with a few differences. It is often about flexibility and placement, while not as hard as ballet.
Ballet is very hard to become good at after the age of ten, but it is not too hard to learn for fun at your age. You will have to stretch a lot and practice everyday, develop your turnout, and strive to catch up with more experienced girls your age.
Pointe is the most advanced form of ballet. You dance on your does. This takes many years to learn how to do. You would have to take a pre-pointe class for at least three years just to dance in easily dirtied shoes that cost an average of 65 dollars. Dancing on pointe causes many foot deformities and can injure you severely by causing you to never dance again. Take it from someone experienced, you should pick something that is easy and fun like hip hop, lyrical,or modern.
