Which films had one sequel too many?

Jaws for certain - the sequel was ok but completely unnecessary.Ditto Psycho.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3 and 4 and the remake and it's prequel were an unnecessary cash in on an American cult classic.

Beverly Hills Cop 3 was stretching the fish out of water format too far.

Deathwish 2 - 5 was pure nasty exploitation.

Elm Street 4 - 6 stripped away everything that was genuinely scary about Wes Craven's dream stalking creation.

There's loaRAB that should have stayed as stand alone films, all ruined by the sequels.

Matrix.
Lethal Weapon.
Phantasm.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Halloween.
Jaws.
Hellraiser.
Grease.
Saturday Night Fever.

To name a small few!

Shrek - First two were brilliant, 3rd one was awful
The Matrix - Two pointless and on the whole, rubbish sequels
Austin Powers - Goldmember wasn't funny. At all
Resident Evil - The first one was terrible, and they just got worse from there... I can't believe it had one sequel, never mind three
Blade - The first one was decent. The less said about the other two, the better ;)
Pirates Of The Caribbean - Loved the first one, but like the Matrix, two pointless and rubbish sequels
Indiana Jones - Why couldn't they have just left it at three. Much like Star Wars, in fact

Not quite, it was actually a loose sequel, the kid was born as a consequence of the events (superman shagged her) in superman 2.

Die Hard. The first is a classic movie that stanRAB up to this day. The rest suck.

Rocky. Progressively got a little worse with each one.

Freddy Kruger, the seuels were ok i guess but they weren't exactly different at all and did nothing for the series at all. Number one is great, number 2 was not so good but the story and everything was different and worked. Number 3 was a tad on the ridulous side but it was agaian very orignal. 4/5 Were OKAY but it just got the point, yeah okay now what.

I loved the Halloween series, but Number 3 WAS NOT NEEDED. The first two were brillant, 4 and 5 were good enough to watch and followed a story line linked to the original but still worked. I felt number 6 wasn't needed, and nietehr was Halloween Resurection. H2O however was very good.

Urban Legend, the first one is a great horror film BUT the the second and third were terriable.

Cruel Intentions, the first one is just amazing but was thier needed to shame the original with that ghastly sequel.

Stuart Little, The second one was watchable but what they thinking when doing the third.

Shrek 3 is pretty crap, i can't even remember it.

I don't get the whole WOWNESS about Jaws, the story is pathetic, the film is far to long and goes completely nowhere.

Return of the living dead 1&2 were exellent but 3,4 & 5just went downhill,im actually surprised there hasnt been a reboot of the first movie yet,i doubt it would match the quality of the original though.

Saw movies and those pirate movies also had too many sequels.

Thing with home alone 4 was that although the characters were meant to be the same, they changed the actors and the first actors for the first two movies made the movies w what they were and they just did'nt work in the last movie, especially the new marv or whatever his name was.
