Which films do you find the most scary, even though it's rediculous.

When I was younger, the first half an hour of the Evil Dead used to scare me silly, and the first half hour of American Werewolf in London (especially the bit where Jenny Agutter opens the curtains and where he has the nightmare about being in the wooRAB).

As an adult, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me really makes me feel uneasy, I have no idea why

Only two films have had such an effect on me that it has haunted me for quite some time.
A Nightmare On Elm Street or Freddy Kruger more to the point scared me to death when I was younger. The whole killing you in your dreams scared me and whenever I would have a nightmare and wake up I wouldn't move for quite some time because I thought he would be in the room.

The other is the evil dead and that "thing" that lives in the wooRAB. Every-time I go to the bottom of my garden I have to rush back to the house as I think that thing is out there getting closer. Quite pathetic but it shows these types of films have the impact they were created for.

I was the same with Freddy for a number of years, after the first 3 movies (I was young).Freddy's Dead literally killed off any fear I had.

The original is superior, and far more creepy. The CGI on the ghost in the remake was terrible compared. I do however adore the scene in the remake with the Horse, that was just horrible and disturbing, nice touch in the remake.

The Fearless Vampire Killers, the music combined with being chased by vampires, its like going up to bed with the lights off, you get that shiver down your back and the feeling someone/thing is behind you, I do remember once a mate of mine was watching Hallowwen II and her boyfriend appered at the window with a mask on, she never watched Halloween again :D

I find the thought of sitting through AI again pretty scary :D

Seriously though - The Fly (1986). Great film, but can't watch it - really gets under my skin!

I watched this when it was first broadcast during xmas in 1989 my mate nearly had a heart attack when the women was hovering over the bed.

i nearly knocked my can of cheap lager all over myself lol

damn that WAS scary

as a kid poltergeist(prob spelt wrong lol) i couldnt watch alone it really did scare me

One film that really freaked me out was the original The Haunting. Nothing really happens but the atmosphere of the film is so creepy........

I watched it on my own, in a dark room, whilst everyone else in the house was asleep...... I was so freaked out I had go and wake someone up to talk to me until I calmed down!

I'm more fascinated than scarred by Sci-Fi Horror flicks, I was is awe of the hybrid alien in Alien Resurrection, especially how he met his end. The screams were chilling :/

A film I saw recently on "Zone Horror" was called "Freakshow". Made in 2008 (I think).
It's a remake of the Tod Browning 1932 film "Freaks".
Very disturbing final 20 minutes or so !
When they get that woman and do unspeakable thing to her involving pincers and pliers !
