for short answer? 1: My involvement as an Honor's Student. I volunteered through various organizations, and I collaborated with my professors on special Honor's (academic) projects that I designed, in addition to my other coursework. I also participated in statewide honor's conferences, and drafted a code of ethics for my community college's honor's program.
2. My research fellowship through the University that I am applying to. I designed and conducted community based research for 10 weeks, last summer in addition to participating in research seminars and workshops.
Although my mom really wants me to write about the second one, and it really was an amazing experience for me, I'm concerned that I am putting too much emphasis on it on my app while ignoring the other activities? I mean, the director of the fellowship wrote a letter of recommendation for me, so would it be overkill for me to mention it again? Would it make me look one dimensional?
I don't think I would be able to highlight on my leadership activities in the first choice anywhere else in the app, but maybe in my resume?
By the way, I'm applying through the Common App.
