Which dirt bike is best to turn street legal?

want to turn a bike street legal just to get around town in. I realize that each of these bikes are in there own class but I hear great things about both. Soooo
As far as the KTM 530exc goes- Of course - Does it make a good dual sport bike?
- Are the parts more expensive and harder to find?

and for xr650r- I hear that it was like trying to push around a wild snorlax when you have to go around corners but then again I am 6'4'' and 190lbs so will the manuverability still be a problem for me?
-Also if I do turn it street legal- How will I keep it from getting stolen since it is kick start based? I know you can put the e switch on it but cant people just take the bike apart and re wire it back to kick start quickly?

As you can see I am looking for a bike that I can get around town in but still TEAR IT UP when I go off roading. So another question which bike changes tires out quicker to go stir up the dirt?

Also if you have any suggestions on which bike I can get that would fit the categories of being DURABLE AS HELL, off road demon yet still be good for flipping into something street legal I would love to hear your feed back. thank you so much for reading best of wishes for you.

You're much better off getting one that's already street legal. KTM dual sport bikes are pretty much the same as their corresponding off-road models with some lights and an ignition switch added on. The LC4 engine is pretty much bulletproof.

Honda makes an XR650L, but it's not quite as dirt worthy as the KTM's.

You can convert any bike, but expect to pay over $1,500 for a truck load of new parts. Every biker I know said their state stopped allowing the conversion.
