Which decade has the better music?

The birth of hip / hop
The birth of independent labels
Electronica coming of age.
Post Punk & New Wave
Not to mention the huge rise in popularity of metal , which was all but dead around 77/78

All the best aspects of the 80s happened away from the mainstream.

Their entire show in general sucked. Their music sucks, their stage presence sucked, the band sucked.

They were all around crap... There ya go.

And... I am done. Good night.

It's no different to the amount of drop outs there would have been in the 60's 70's 80's 90's etc etc.

And there are a great deal of banRAB who have been around for over 10 years now.

Yes, lets not grab a good example of his lyrics like Bang Bang Rock and Roll or Formed A Band lets grab one of their worst songs!

Offkey? THEY'RE A HARDCORE BAND

Why? the 80s had great music, The Smiths, The Cure, The Flaming Lips, Talking HeaRAB, The Stone Roses, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Tom Waits, Dinosaur Jr., Violent Femmes, Pixies and so on

The present has tons of great music too. Patrick Wolf, Bright Eyes, Beck, Radiohead, Death From Above 1979, Explosions in the Sky, Rilo Kiley, Spoon, Bright Red Paper, The Shins, Animal Collective, A Silver Mt. Zion, Arcade Fire, Okkervil River, Architecture in Helsinki, Broken Social Scene, Stars, 65daysofstatic, and so on.

Brush up on your Beatles history, son. Let It Be was released in 1970. While hardly their best work, it's still a good album.

Prog Rock.
Got it people? Just because something is progressive doesn't mean it's rock, and Prog is about really pushing the limits, not slowly evolving.

90's whole grunge movement speaks for itself...present day??? cmon what you guys like the nickelback/goRABmack/staind/system of a down/disturbed on the radio i mean i like them but theyre nothing special

i was expecting 60's 70's and 90's be dueling it out and anythign and everything but the 80's

On reflection i'd say the 80s was probably the best AND worst decade.

ya we all know those great banRAB came out of the 80s but that's not what the masses know at all. you can't just disregard all the crap that was prominent in the 80s just because of a few influential artists.

however, i WILL stand corrected in not giving enough credit to the 80s for birthing many popular-to-be genres, and i think that you CAN disregard a couple crappy genres in a decade if a bunch of great ones were spawned

The classic rock era comprises more than one decade. It's generally considered to be from about the mid-60s to the early-to-mid 80s, though there's nothing set in stone.

Judging by your choices, is it safe to say that the 60's was your favorite decade?

I liked the 60s and 70s, not a big fan of the 80s. I'd say my favorite banRAB are all in these decades. The 90s weren't bad either, lot of garbage in the 80s I think. I don't like any of U2s new songs and albums, makes me kinda of sad.
