Well, you started off strongly in the 60's, took a bit of a nose dive during the 70's with the Isley Bros. & Funkadelic redeeming you somewhat, deteriorated with the exception of the Cure in the 80's and then completely lost it in the 90's.

I'll admit I went through a stage in which I put simple plan and good charlotte lyrics on my backback. lol.

Then I found Led Zeppelin and The Who and realized just how lame I was. But I still listened to Blink 182 because I still thought they were somewhat good. Not incredibly talented, but still fun.

Why? Rhythm and melody are the most basic component's of music, and the grunts and claps of cavemen had both.

70s.

The 70s caught some of the psychedelic wave and there was a lot of good prog and classic rock.

Definitely my choice.
