I'm working on a vampire story based on my home province of Newfoundland. I'm trying to decide what nationality of vampires would live on the Island.

I have the standard English and Irish presence so I have the Catholic and Anglican presence that was a big part of the education and culture of the island for years.

I'm a little unsure of what others to include. I was thinking maybe drawing from the Vikings from L'anse aux Meadows. Or maybe the extinct Beothuks an Algonkian related First Nation .
Then there are the French who had a strong presence in Fortune Bay and other areas for the longest time. And of course the Basque who fished around Newfoundland before John Cabot arrived.
In more modern times the Island was host to American Soldiers which had a lot of impact in St. John's during the wars.

So as you can see I have a lot I could possibly draw on. I'm having a little trouble picking and choosing which cultures readers would enjoy seeing represented as Vampires. Any suggestions from the list or other wise would be awesome. I would use all of them but that would make for too many characters.
