Which College Degrees in the Humanities/Social Sciences Have the Best Career...

...Opportunities? I was considering going to school to study history. From what I understand, there are not as many jobs available for somebody holding a history degree than there are for someone holding a science degree.
If history is no good, then which non-science degree would be best for making a decent living?
 
Any undergrad degree (with the possible exception of engineering and related areas) these days has poor job prospects. That's because every Tom, Dick and Harry has a bachelors - its like HS was 20 years ago. The real action is in post-grad. As a preparation for a post-grad qualification that will get you a job history is as good as anything. Science degrees don't have great prospects either. 25 years ago the guys i started work with in IT all has science degrees but were made to do postcard studies as a condition of employment. I was excused because of the number of IT subjects I took undergrad - but that was more good luck than design. That was 25 years ago - things are even worse now. Really you need to resign yourself to post-grad study.
