the pioneer deck is a much better deck. they are pretty much the same in most aspects but the pioneer has a 4 volt preamp output and the sony only has a 2 volt. this will make your sound quality much better. if you are looking at these decks price wise i would recommend the kenwood kdc hd-942u. that is the deck that i am getting along with my rockford p3 10s it is the same price and is a very good deck i know a few people who have bought it and are more than pleased with it. but if you are just looking between the pioneer and the sony. not even a question go with the poineer
