I'm living in middle-Africa and need to buy a new vehicle. We have run our Nissan Sentra into the ground and are now looking for something different as a child is on the way. It can't be an ordinary car as the roads here are nothing like they are in the first world! Our Sentra was torn to pieces underneath just trying to take the roads.
We have recently looked at getting a Land Rover Freelander but it gets bad reviews as it's expensive to run and work on and impossible to sell. We'd like something that sort of style but definitely must be more economical. It can't be anything new - we can spend up to about R70'000. In England/America that'd get us something decent, but out here it barely gets crap.
Can anyone please suggest a vehicle that might suit our needs and isn't too expensive to buy or run?
