I am an upcoming freshman in college and I currently drive a 1996 Saturn SL2. The car is fine but I want something more fun to drive (a manual transmission) that isn't going to cost more than $7000, and is also good on gas. As of right now, I am considering 3 cars.
1. 2004 Saab 9-3 Linear - 103,000 miles, 2 liter inline 4 cylinder DOHC engine, 175 horsepower, 23 mpg City / 34 mpg Hwy, intercooled turbo, and a sunroof.
It's a beautiful car and the dealer wants $6,883 for it. I know Koenigsegg just bought Saab, which will make parts more expensive, right? (I'm not a rich kid, so I don't have money or time to spend on repairs, but Saab is all about quaility, so should I need to worry about it?)
2. 2003 Mazda 6 - 89,000 miles, 3 liter V6, leather seats, sunroof, and 19 mpg City / 27 mpg Hwy.
The owner wants $5,950.
3. 2007 Saturn Ion - 18,000 miles, 4 cylinder 2.2 Liter, 26 mpg City / 35 mpg Hwy, no sunroof
, 3 year/36,000 mile warranty, and no scratches or dents (unlike the other two that have one minor dent each).
The dealer wants $7,000 for it. I know this is the best deal, but am I going to regret getting this moderately common family car?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
