Which car is more reliable? Toyota's or Honda's?

Im planning on buying my own car, and giving my old 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer away with 120+ miles on it. Im thinking about getting either a Toyota or Honda. My brother has a V6 Honda Accord and says Honda's are really reliable and long lasting, but I heard Toyotas run forever and my mom drives a 97 toyota with over 200 K on it that still runs good. So basically should I get a toyota or Honda? I plan on driving long road trips because my college is about 32092 miles from my home, no lie. I either want a Honda Fit, Honda Civic, or Honda Accord, or a Toyota Yaris, Toyota Corolla, Toyota RAV4, or Toyota 4Runner, or even the Toyota Highlander. Which one do u guys recommend for a college student?
I plan on buying a new or gently used car with like 50K or less on it, and I plan to use it to commute from va to ca on long breaks, so maybe 2 or 3 long road trips a year. Space in the car isnt much of a issue, the most important thing is how reliable the car is

it all depends on what u want
