I live in Denver, need a better vehicle for winter driving. Love both of these, but not sure how they handle, and I need honest opinions. What other cars are good for winter? Besides Subaru

lol. they're acutally the SAME exact car, down the the radio knob, just rebadged for the different brands.

go for the pontiac, and get the awd the pontiac can be found for cheaper, and it keeps pretty decent resale value, and for all weather sorts of thing, it does pretty well as long as you don't take it to extremes.

I've never driven either a Toyota Matrix or a Pontiac Vibe, but I can tell you they will handle pretty much the same in the snow/ice. In fact, they are "sister" cars, almost identical mechanically. They are both built in the same plant, on the same line, in Fremont, California.

The Vibe and the Matrix are the exact same car. Built on the same assembly line in the same factory.

On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday they put Pontiac grilles on them, the rest of the week the use Toyota front ends.

If you want the best winter vehicle you need all wheel drive. I'd be looking at a Subaru Outback or Forrester.
